Choncho Lizardlord: a CN dragonborn sorcerer with a charlatan background. Having no previous experience, this guy was fantastic at role playing his scams that he would set up (with the help of the others he once sold an entire town knock off viagra which was essentially just flower petals in water). He simply couldn't resist the idea of getting rich quick.
Bard: the joke name used for our CN human fighter. Bard's player made it clear in character creation that he would be a difficult character to deal with and made sure we were okay with it first. He would often get blackout drunk to the point where I would decide what happened to his character if he wandered off. It was frustrating in an "Always Sunny" kinda way.
Perra: the CG dragonborn barbarian who funny enough acted as the moral compass for the group. She would often humanize the npcs and was usually the one who has them tag along. She still got into the antics but often did her own thing to get away from the testosterone.
So one the overall campaign was that they were escorting a lost princess across the continent to help her reclaim the kingdom she had lost. I would usually give them fun little episodes to do whenever they got to a new town.
They arrive at a city one day and Choncho hasn't swindled anyone for a while so he makes his way to the noble district while Perra finds an inn with the princess and Bard tried to get his drink on (mind you this is probably 10am).
Through some extremely good rolls (not to mention some rather convincing role playing), Choncho is able to find an elven noble woman and convince her to buy a necklace of dried elven ears (his recovery when he realized how that might be awkward was phenomenal) that would protect her from any would-be assassins (he hired a beggar to approach somewhat aggressively, then stop and look as if he'd forgotten why he was there before moving on). The noble woman agreed to meet him at the bank the following morning to pay him a sum of 10,000 gold.
They were pretty excited to see that amount, especially considering a few nights earlier bandits had came and pilfered their wagon for literally all they were worth. Choncho meets up with the party at the inn and tells them of his success, they have a toast and bard proceeds to go overboard. Before he is able to leave the two dragonborn grab him and lock him in his room for the night. Cue end of session.
We met a week later, and in that time I informed Bard of his antics after he fell out the second story window.
The next day the two dragonborn wake up to find Bard missing. Perra is concerned and Choncho is pissed, yelling and screaming and cursing Bard's name. He tells Perra and the princess to find him while he makes off to the bank to finish his sale.
He gets there and the elven woman greets him cordially, but he can immediately tell something is up. She says she wants to introduce him to a friend. I explain that two guards walk in, escorting a very hungover Bard. Choncho's player immediately turns to face Bard's player with fury in his eyes. "You know I'm gonna kill him, right?" he says ooc.
By this point even Bard's player was horrified. The guy wasn't actually a dick, but we all thought it was fun and lead to some interesting encounters to have a character we all didn't particularly like be around (the only reason he really stuck around was because he was infatuated with the princess).
So the woman explains that she was at the casino when she overheard Bard talking about his golden dragonborn friend making them all rich (not sure Concho ever intended to share the spoils but okay). She allows herself to lose a few hands of cards to keep him talking until he gives away the entire plot.
There's silence. Then Choncho begins screaming and cursing and goes to attack Bard, but the guards get them first. At this point the whole table is laughing. The two get arrested and thrown in a cell together, at which point Choncho uses shocking grasp on Bard's testicles.
That may have been the most fun we've had, but at the same time it lead to Bard's player wanting to retire his character and start with someone new. Getting to role play Bard's exit was another story entirely (he did not go out with dignity), but turned into some great rp.
